MUONOPHONE
The Muonophone is a machine I built that allows me to make music using muon detectors. These muon detectors pick up harmless radiation caused by cosmic rays interacting with the Earth’s atmosphere. Every time a muon particle is detected, a note is generated. The strength of the muon determines the velocity of the note. From there it gets quantised, filtered, processed and sequenced to create soundscapes which I can then play alongside; like a duet between me and the cosmic forces. I’m playing 10 shows during the Edinburgh Festival at a show called MŮO.
