HARMONOGRAPH POETRY MACHINE
This version of the Harmonograph Synth was created for an exhibitions in Edinburgh and Orkney. I used Pure Data to create a generative music patch. The pendulums trigger musical events but they also trigger sporadic poems by four UK poets. This one, called Fill Your Basket is by Hollie McNish. I used a Raspberry Pi 3 to handle all the generative synth audio and play the poems while a Bela converts the pendulum sensors to triggers. The Pi sees the Bela as a USB device and receives MIDI triggers from each of the pendulums as they pass a reed switch.
